Britney Imitates Julie Roberts for Shits & Giggles

Britney Imitates Julie Roberts for Shits & Giggles

They say imitation is the highest form of flattery and if that's true Britney Spears must be a huge fan of Julia Roberts'.

Having a giggle with the ever-present paparazzi at her LA home, the 26-year-old clutched a copy of Vanity Fair and mimicked the pose of its cover star Julia Roberts.

Putting a rose in mouth and pointing to the magazine, Britney showed off her sense of humour with the comical move.

The controversial star has been going from strength to strength recently in the battle to regain her status as the princess of pop and its good to see she hasn't lost her sense of humour in the process.

Spending more time with her children, who ex-husband Kevin Federline has full custody of, and getting back in shape Britney seems to be determined to turn her life around.

Britney Voted Only #6 Craziest Celebrity

Britney Voted Only #6 Craziest Celebrity

Michael Jackson was voted #1 even though he was never involuntarily admitted to a mental ward.

Case History: Even before her I do/I don't to hometown pal Jason Alexander (never mind Fed-Ex), Spears had been regularly frightening her handlers with Girls Gone Wild antics. Jell-O shots and table dancing graduated to TV breakdowns and panty-free good times with role model Paris Hilton. Nothing could have prepared her fans for the self-inflicted shearing that left her looking like a cross between G.I. Jane and the dude from Powder, and even high-powered lawyers representing her in a sideshow/custody battle with Kevin Federline jumped ship in early '08. Undaunted, she has proven capable of feeding the tabloids with shockers on an almost daily basis. This story is developing, and she is poised to move up a few crazy pegs on this list...

Crazy Moment: Her drunken 55-hour marriage to Jason Alexander? Her sober marriage to Kevin Federline? Her January, 2008 refusal to return custody of her children to Fed-Ex'es bodyguard, resulting in a paramedic-assisted gurney ride to a local hospital? It's a tough call.

She's So Crazy: "I get to go to lots of overseas places, like Canada."

OMG, TV Guide still exists? This is her first mag cover (not tabloid) in forever...

Here is your first look at Britney Spears during her appearance on the CBS comedy How I Met Your Mother.

In the episode airing March 24, the pop princess plays Abby, a secretary at a dermatologist’s office. Soon after meeting Ted (Josh Radnor, pictured), Abby becomes smitten with him.

While shooting the episode, HIMYM star Neil Patrick Harris was asked how Britney was in the role. He said, “She’s been doing well. Surprisingly, no British accent.”

The Atlantic: Every Mag is Weak for Britney

The Atlantic: Every Mag is Weak for Britney

The 150-year-old magazine the Atlantic, whose "influential and highly engaged readers turn to [it] for intellectual stimulation," has a very serious and brainy discussion of Britney Spears that necessitated her use on the cover, plus the word "Rabelaisian" inside the magazine. The Atlantic of course is just the most recent and highbrow magazine to take its cover downmarket in the pursuit of Serious Journalism; a somber Rolling Stone earlier this month did a big cover story on the "American Tragedy" of Britney Spears and, with a heavy heart, saw its website traffic double. New York magazine published a naked Lindsay Logan in an artistic homage to Marilyn Monroe and melted its Web servers because it did not anticipate needing to deliver 20 million instances of art across the internet. For its part, the Atlantic intellectualized tabloid material by applying the term "gynophobic" to a Spears-related website comments section:

The Tragedy of Britney Spears

She was a pop princess. Now she's in and out of hospitals, rehab and court. How Britney lost it all.

A pop star at the mall is an eternal cause for happiness, especially on a Sunday afternoon in the Valley. One moment, shoppers in the Westfield Topanga mall are living in the real world, monotonously selecting a new shade of eye shadow or rubbing perfume on wrists, but upon the rapture of Britney Spears, they are giggling, laughing, orgasmic, already sharing their secret on cell phones. "Her legs are actually really skinny," an adolescent whispers into her Sidekick, as Britney beelines for the Betsey Johnson boutique, pseudo-punk designer of evening dresses and splashy heels worn to suburban high school proms. In person, Britney is shockingly beautiful — clear skin, ruby lips, a perfectly proportioned twenty-six-year-old porcelain doll with a nasty weave. She cuts through the crowd swiftly, the way she used to when 20,000 adoring fans mobbed her outside a concert, with her paparazzi boyfriend, Adnan Ghalib, trailing behind.

Someone is Pissed @ Rolling Stone & it's Not Britney

Someone is Pissed @ Rolling Stone & it's Not Britney

Someone besides Britney feels mis-represented by the new Rolling Stone article!

'They contacted me with the offer,' Danish businessman Claus Hjelmbak insists; magazine stands by its story.

Unless you're a paparazzo, it's next-to-impossible to get an audience with Britney Spears — she bails on her court hearings, backs out of booked cover stories with magazines, and hasn't had a publicist in ages. So what do you do if you're trying to get an interview with her?

Rolling Stone came up with an idea, detailed in the magazine's new issue — why not pretend to be willing to pay upward of $2 million for a sit-down and see if anyone bites? Now, one of the men associated with the deal, Danish businessman Claus Hjelmbak, says the magazine did more than just misrepresent itself, accusing the magazine of fraud, defamation and slander.

"I just want to get the truth out," Hjelmbak added. "The way she wrote the whole article, it makes me look shady. I'm consulting my lawyers to take legal action about this. It's slander, defamation and fraud. They're selling a lot of issues with a lot of lies."

Let's back up a bit.

We can't remember the last time we actually bought a hard copy of Rolling Stone. But with all the buzz surrounding this issue's Britney Spears cover story, we found ourselves dashing to the newsstand first thing this morning and tearing through the issue as we drank our morning coffee. Needless to say, the piece does not disappoint. What follows are some of our favorite slices from Vanessa Grigoriadis' fascinating look of the person she describes as having "the most public downfall of any star in history."

» Grigoriadis describes Britney as being "an inbred swamp thing who chain-smokes, doesn't do her nails, tells reporters to 'eat it, snort it, lick it, fuck it' and screams at people who want pictures for their little sisters."

» On the trip that she took to Vegas where she ended up marrying her high-school boyfriend Jason Alexander, "she packed her bags on a plane for three days of partying in Las Vegas - cocaine during the evening, Ecstasy in the early morning and Xanax to sleep, according to Alexander."

BRIT's FIGHT TO GET WELL

Bipolar and locked in a psych ward, Spears has no one to trust as she loses control to parents she 'hates'

Sam Lutfi, who is now on the receiving end of a restraining order imposed by Britney Spears' parents, was the one person by her side as she unraveled over the past six months.

In the latest issue of Us Weekly, on newsstands now, Spears' de facto manager and confidant opens up about her bipolar disorder, how he medicated her, what happened the night she was hospitalized, and how her parents reacted.

"In the depressive episodes, it's all crying," Lutfi tells Us. "But in the manic episode, there's very little crying or sympathy or compassion. She becomes another person. She becomes somebody that just doesn't care about anybody or anything."

"The British accent is part of the mania," he adds. "She'll stick to the British accent because she becomes comfortable with it... But you know, when the pink wig comes on, it's getting bad."

Britney Spears: The Complete Video Guide

Nowadays a "Britney Spears video" means shaky paparazzi footage on a celebrity Web site — but there was a time when Spears ruled the small screen. Here's a guide to all 24 of her official clips.

" ... Baby One More Time" (1998, from ... Baby One More Time)

Best Known For: Being the most iconic clip ever set in a high school.

Plot: Liberated by the school bell, a Catholic-schoolgirl-clad Spears has an elaborate daydream that involves grooving in the hallway, doing back-flips outside of school and rocking out on the basketball court. Even the grumpy teacher feels the beat (sorta) by the end.

Exposed Midriff?: Thanks to creative tying of her school uniform, a short pink tank top and a yellow crop top, Spears' mid-section doesn't lose a single second of screen time.

Prescient Lyric: "My loneliness is killing me"

Britney Spears Had Breast Implants At a Young Age

Well, since she's away, the cats will play. In the same Rolling Stone cover story they are set to reveal that Britney had breat implants at a young age and regretted them. Also an ex-assistant friend of hers told this site that her boobs are still fake not removed like the article says.

February 6, 2008 -- Britney Spears had her breasts enlarged as a teenager, but later decided she was a big boob to do it and went back under the knife, the new issue of Rolling Stone reveals. The pathetic pop tart, now locked up in a padded cell, "regretted the implants, particularly because her chest was still growing," the magazine reports. "And when her natural breasts became larger, she had the implants removed." Spears has always denied she was surgically enhanced.

Sam Lutfi Helped with Britney Rolling Stone Cover

Rumor has it that Sam contributed off-the-record for Britney's Rolling Stone cover story and more tell-all book stories.

As we knew he would, PerezHilton.com has learned that Osama Lutfi is shopping a tell-all interview.

"He's already reached out to a few of the entertainment news shows," a TV insider tells us. "He's trying to broker the best deal."

Don't be surprised if Entertainment Tonight and The Insider pay him for an interview they stretch out over a week, like they did with Britney's paparazzo boy toy, Adnan Ghalib.

Additionally, Osama spoke on-the record with Rolling Stone for their cover story on Spears.

"We've been doing dictation, she's been telling me her story, and I've been writing it all down," Lutfi tells the mag. "It would make a great book!"
