Britney Spears’ dramatic mood swing while shopping at Petco with her assistant this afternoon reflects a dangerous recurring pattern.

Despite failing to be present inside the courtroom (she showed up to the LA County Courthouse but left before entering the room) for another crucial emergency hearing, she showed up smiling to do some shopping for her pets with her new assistant. However, the daily pressures of her crumbling life have depleted her patience and she snapped at a photographer on her way out.

Brit-Brit stormed off in a huff and drove around angrily while her assistant was left at Petco with supplies. Eventually, the temper tantrum-throwing diva cooled down enough to pick up her assistant before zooming off back home.

A day that began (did her Tuesday night really end?) with Adnan Ghalib leaving her at the Beverly Regent Hotel to face her responsibilities will surely end with another bizarre adventure as Britney tries desperately to distance herself from the harsh reality she has chosen to create.

Britney Spears ditched her custody hearing yesterday right after walking through metal detectors -- but she told TMZ it was a "wonderful" day.

Our photogs caught a bitter Brit in Hollywood yesterday -- where the braless optimist was allegedly driving on Sunset at speeds near 100 mph and on the wrong side of the road. She made two stops at Petco -- the second one to pick up her new assistant, who had been forgotten on the first stop. Then her ladyship dropped the F-bomb when someone blocked her exit.
